Did you know I started Love Newfoundlands March 2017 in my college apartment as an online print on demand shirt shop?
I had zero desire to run this site as a blog.
I had a travel blog and that was my main focus. I didn’t want to give myself extra work. Somewhere along the way, COVID happened, I couldn’t travel anymore, but I still had the desire to write and create.
So I switched to Love Newfoundlands as my main focus in the blogging world. And here I’ve stayed since 2020. I had a few years where I didn’t post much, but those first couple of years I wrote my first popular article.
Did you know I also started Love Newfoundlands under a different name?
At the time I was afraid of the same Newfoundland Club of America members coming after me in the same hateful way they did last year.
Some of my original unofficial National Specialty designs from the early days. My graphics skills have improved tremendously since then.
Someone last year even said something along the lines of I like your designs and would buy one if it weren’t you doing it. Not exactly word for word but that is what I took away from the interaction.
It’s been about a year since my last sale on the store. The past couple weeks I’ve thought about that interaction and the future of Love Newfoundlands a lot recently.
Is the store really something I need to divide my resources for when there are other things I want to accomplish with Love Newfoundlands this year?
The answer is no.
So with that The Store is no more. I even had it deleted, so I can’t change my mind.
What’s Next?
I kept a puppy from my first litter and will do a proper introduction post as soon as I have the chance to slow down. The slowing down might be a while though, since the next big thing starts Monday at 8am. I’ll finally have a real kitchen again by the end of it! I can’t tell you how excited I am, since I’ve had maybe two feet of counter space since September.
I also have several new ideas in the works and will let you know as soon as I get them up and going. I even got a new camera for the ideas, a Nikon Z30. But until then they’re ready, they’re kinda a secret.
What about Merch?
I did set up a store on Etsy (still a work in progress at the time of publication) and it will be a lighter version of the store. The store will feature the current Love Newfoundlands logo merch as well as the original version from 2017 featuring all colors of Newfoundlands. You can also get items for National Newfoundland Dog Day, and various other limited edition designs throughout the year.
